Warranty Policy

1. Warranty Provider

This warranty is provided by:

RIPPONLEAGH MANUFACTURING PTY LTD
trading as Renegade Outfitters
ABN: 69 686 220 379
12 Sofra Drive
Shepparton VIC 3630
Email: admin@renegadeoutfitters.com.au

This warranty is provided in addition to, and does not exclude, restrict or modify, any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law.

2. Warranty Period

All Renegade Outfitters products are covered by a 12-month warranty commencing on the date the product is delivered to, or collected by, the original purchaser.

Proof of purchase may be required when making a warranty claim.

3. What This Warranty Covers

Renegade Outfitters warrants that its products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship when:

  • used for their intended purpose;

  • installed in accordance with the supplied installation instructions;

  • operated within the stated product and load limits;

  • properly maintained and cared for; and

  • used under normal and reasonable operating conditions.

This warranty applies to all Renegade Outfitters products, including roof racks, side steps, tub hurdles, caravan accessories, outdoor accessories and other products manufactured or supplied under the Renegade Outfitters brand.

4. Warranty Remedies

Where Renegade Outfitters accepts that a product has a defect covered by this warranty, Renegade Outfitters will, subject to the Australian Consumer Law and after assessing the product, provide one of the following remedies:

  • repair the defective product or component;

  • replace the defective product or component with the same or a reasonably equivalent product; or

  • provide a refund where repair or replacement is not reasonable or appropriate.

Renegade Outfitters will determine the appropriate remedy under this voluntary warranty. However, this does not limit a customer's right to choose a refund or replacement where that right applies under the Australian Consumer Law, including where there is a major failure.

Where a product or component is repaired or replaced under this warranty, the repaired or replacement product will remain covered for the balance of the original 12-month warranty period. Any rights applying under the Australian Consumer Law may continue beyond that period.

5. What This Warranty Does Not Cover

To the extent permitted by law, this warranty does not cover damage, deterioration or failure caused by:

  • normal wear and tear;

  • misuse, abuse, neglect or improper maintenance;

  • incorrect installation or installation contrary to the supplied instructions;

  • installation performed without reasonable care or appropriate skill;

  • using the product for a purpose for which it was not designed;

  • exceeding the stated load rating or the vehicle or caravan manufacturer's applicable load limits;

  • uneven or improperly secured loads;

  • accident, collision, impact, rollover, theft, vandalism, fire, flood or other external event;

  • off-road impact damage, including contact with rocks, trees, branches, embankments or other obstacles;

  • alteration, modification, welding, drilling, cutting or repair not approved by Renegade Outfitters;

  • damage caused by another product, accessory, vehicle or caravan component;

  • failure to regularly inspect and tighten fasteners where required;

  • exposure to harsh chemicals, battery acid, industrial fallout or corrosive substances;

  • saltwater or coastal exposure where the product has not been appropriately cleaned and maintained;

  • scratches, stone chips, dents, fading, discolouration or other cosmetic deterioration occurring after delivery;

  • surface corrosion resulting from damaged paint, powder coating or other protective finishes that has not been promptly repaired; or

  • continued use of a product after a fault or damage becomes apparent.

These exclusions do not apply where the relevant defect, damage or failure was caused by defective materials or workmanship supplied by Renegade Outfitters.

This warranty does not exclude liability for installation work performed by Renegade Outfitters where that work fails to meet a consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law.

6. Product Installation and Use

Products must be installed in accordance with the instructions supplied by Renegade Outfitters and any applicable vehicle, caravan or equipment manufacturer requirements.

The purchaser is responsible for ensuring that:

  • the product is suitable for the intended vehicle, caravan or application;

  • installation is carried out by a person with the appropriate skill and experience;

  • all supplied fasteners and mounting components are correctly installed;

  • fasteners are checked and retightened as reasonably required;

  • loads are evenly distributed and securely restrained; and

  • the lowest applicable load rating is not exceeded.

For roof-mounted products, the applicable load limit is the lowest of:

  • the Renegade Outfitters product load rating;

  • the vehicle manufacturer's roof load rating;

  • the rating of any factory rails, tracks or mounting points; and

  • any applicable on-road or off-road load limitation.

7. Making a Warranty Claim

To make a warranty claim, contact Renegade Outfitters at:

Email: admin@renegadeoutfitters.com.au
Postal Address: 12 Sofra Drive, Shepparton VIC 3630
]

Your claim should include:

  • your name and contact details;

  • your order number, invoice or other proof of purchase;

  • the product name or description;

  • the vehicle or caravan make, model and year, where relevant;

  • the date the issue was first noticed;

  • a clear description of the alleged defect;

  • photographs or videos showing the issue;

  • photographs showing how the product has been installed; and

  • any other information reasonably requested to assess the claim.

A product must not be returned without first obtaining return instructions from Renegade Outfitters.

Where a fault may affect safety, vehicle operation or load security, you must stop using the product until it has been assessed.

8. Inspection and Assessment

Renegade Outfitters may require the product to be:

  • inspected at an agreed location;

  • returned to Renegade Outfitters;

  • inspected by a suitably qualified third party; or

  • removed from the vehicle or caravan where this is reasonably necessary to determine the cause of the failure.

Renegade Outfitters may initially assess a claim using photographs, videos and information provided by the customer.

A claim will not be rejected solely because the customer did not report the issue immediately, provided that any delay did not cause or materially contribute to additional damage or prevent Renegade Outfitters from reasonably assessing the original fault.

9. Warranty Claim Expenses

Renegade Outfitters will bear the reasonable costs of assessing and processing a valid warranty claim.

Where Renegade Outfitters requires a product to be returned for assessment and the claim is accepted, Renegade Outfitters will arrange or reimburse reasonable return freight or transportation costs.

Customers should obtain approval from Renegade Outfitters before incurring freight, removal, refitting or other warranty-related expenses.

Where an assessment determines that the product is not defective or that the issue is not covered by this warranty or the Australian Consumer Law, Renegade Outfitters may require the customer to pay reasonable inspection, freight or transportation costs. Any such costs will be disclosed to and agreed with the customer before they are incurred.

Nothing in this section limits any right to recover reasonable costs under the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Third-Party Components

Some Renegade Outfitters products may incorporate components manufactured by another supplier.

Any manufacturer's warranty applying to a third-party component is in addition to the customer's rights against Renegade Outfitters under the Australian Consumer Law.

Renegade Outfitters will not require a customer to deal directly with another manufacturer where Renegade Outfitters has an obligation to provide a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The benefits provided under this 12-month warranty are in addition to all other rights and remedies available to the customer under the Australian Consumer Law.

Consumer guarantee rights are not limited to the 12-month warranty period. Depending on the nature, price and expected durability of a product, rights under the Australian Consumer Law may continue after this voluntary warranty has expired.

12. Changes to This Policy

Renegade Outfitters may update this Warranty Policy from time to time. Any update will not reduce the warranty rights applying to a product purchased before the updated policy took effect.

The warranty terms applying at the time of purchase will continue to apply to that purchase, together with all rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.
